Steven T. Wahlmeier, MD, an orthopaedic surgeon with Nebraska Orthopaedic Center, is now seeing patients at Hastings Orthopaedics.
Originally from the Hastings area, Dr. Wahlmeier attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, followed by an orthopaedic surgery residency at William Beaumont Hospital outside of Detroit, Michigan. He completed a fellowship, with specialized training in orthopaedic spine surgery, at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Wahlmeier trained with two former presidents of the Cervical Spine Research Society, providing the highest level of training in spine surgery involving the neck.
Dr. Wahlmeier specializes in back, neck and spine care. He also sees patients for upper extremities, including work with the hands, carpal tunnel, trigger finger, wrist, elbow, bicep and shoulder.
Dr. Wahlmeier and his wife have three children. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities. He is happy to be back in Nebraska near friends and extended family, as well as being able to serve the communities near his hometown.
