Nurse navigators fill a vital patient advocacy role, providing a consistent point of patient contact in the highly fragmented healthcare industry.
Denise Reichert, RN BSN, OMS, WCC, has joined Mary Lanning Healthcare as the women's health nurse navigator.
Reichert brings with her more than 20 years of nursing experience. A graduate of University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing (Kearney division), Reichert worked for 10 years in a rural hospital and eight years in home health before moving to Hastings in 2014. She worked in the Mary Lanning Healthcare Medical-Surgical Unit before returning to work in home health. She is certified in wound and ostomy care.
"I'm excited to be working with the Women's Health program at MLH," Reichert said. "I hope I can lesson the stress and burden on women by giving them a resource."
Reichert is married and has three children and two stepchildren. One of her daughters is also pursuing nursing as a career.
