Interpretation Services

The hospital cares for many non-English speaking patients and provides several translation services to bridge the language barrier.

Family Members and ML Employees

Many patients bring bilingual family members with them to assist in translation. In addition, a limited number of employees are on staff who, when available, translate for patients.

Language Line

Language line is an over-the-phone interpretation system. The service provides access to interpreters for more than 140 languages*, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In most cases, an interpreter is available within moments. Access to languages include the following areas:

  • Asia
  • Europe
  • Pacific Islands
  • North America
  • South America
  • Caribbean
