NICU
Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Our Level II NICU at Mary Lanning Healthcare provides a safe environment for babies who need a little extra care (those 32 weeks and older). The experienced staff provides quality care in a family-centered environment, helping your baby get the best possible start.
NICU Staff
Our NICU staff members include:
- Highly trained NICU nurses who add a personal touch to your baby's care
- Three board-certified pediatricians
- A multidisciplinary team of radiology and laboratory professionals, respiratory therapists, plus physical, occupation and speech therapists
- Full-time lactation consultants
NICU features
- Our NICU rooms are private for the family.
- Our centralized monitoring system allows babies to be viewed from room-to-room, at the nurse's station and in the break room.
- If needed, we provide donor milk for breastfeeding babies.
- We use probiotics to promote gut health for babies at risk.
- Through a special agreement with Children's Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha, we provide transport of babies from area critical access hospitals to our NICU.
Family First
We encourage babies to have a bonding experience with their parents while in the NICU, allowing parents to provide as much hands-on care as possible. Parents help with diaper changes, bathing and feedings. We encourage skin-to-skin contact.
