This prestigious accreditation comes from the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC), recognizing our commitment to quality patient care and safety. MLH is the only medical center in Nebraska to receive the accreditation, which requires meeting nationally and internationally recognized standards.
Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery
In the past, the only option for hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) was open abdominal surgery. Typically, patients would spend two to three days in the hospital with several months recovering at home. With laparoscopic hysterectomy and other minimally invasive procedures, many women go home the same or next day.
Minimally invasive surgery typically means:
- Less time in the hospital
- Shorter recovery times
- Better overall outcomes
A wide range of gynecological conditions can be treated with minimally invasive surgery. Although not every condition can be treated in this way, our COEMIG Master Surgeons will consider whether you are a candidate for one of the less invasive procedures. Procedures offered at COEMIG centers must adhere to strict guidelines.
