Mary Lanning Healthcare’s Pediatric Unit provides extensive care to children from infancy to 19 years of age. Located on the 4th Floor, the unit has five designated rooms with access up to 10 beds.
Having a child in the hospital is a cause of great concern and stress for parents and caregivers. Our Pediatric Unit is designed not only to bring healing to the children we serve, but also to provide reassurance to parents and caregivers.
The staff of the Pediatric Unit is a tight-knit group of professionals who are trained and experienced in every developmental age and circumstance. Every member of our staff is dedicated to the well-being of our patients.
A sibling room for families with more than one child admitted to Pediatrics allows loved ones to be together in one room.
Parents and caregivers can assist the healing process by:
Parents and Caregivers can be with their child around the clock. Visits are limited during special procedures requiring sterile attire. Parents are always carefully informed about every procedure.
Siblings are welcome except during times when risk of communicable disease is most prevalent (i.e. flu season).
Our staff works closely with local ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) physicians, and oral and general surgeons. Due to proximity, patients of all ages who have had tonsillectomies, sinus surgery, thyroidectomy and other ENT procedures, as well as appendectomies or gallbladder surgery, may also stay in the Pediatrics Unit.
The Pediatrics Unit can also monitor your child from a distance, gathering valuable vital sign information. Staff is notified if changes are noted. Our staff is Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) trained, and understands the skills required to care for any child. Specialized and fully-equipped Broselow carts are located in three areas of Mary Lanning Healthcare, with one dedicated to Pediatrics. This mobile cart can be wheeled to a child’s bedside and can be used to determine equipment and medication needs at any given time.
We provide your child with the best care – anywhere!
