Makenzie received her Master of Science in Education degree in 2018 from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. She is a member and certified through the American Speech-Language- Hearing Association (ASHA). Makenzie is certified and trained in neuromuscular electrical stimulation (VitalStim), Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow (FEES), and Modified Barium Swallow Impairment profile (MBSImp). Makenzie is a member of the National Association of Neonatal Therapists (NANT) and provides coordination of care for speech therapy services for inpatient. Makenzie has also established the Internation Dysphagia Diet Standardization Initiative for MLH working hand in hand with the dietary/nutrition staff. She provides services in the hospital setting in Acute Care, PCU, ICU, Med Surg, NICU, and help in the adult and pediatric outpatient services as needed.
