Hello, my name is Mikensie Wright.
I am excited to join the Mary Lanning Healthcare team. Prior to MLH, I worked for an intensive home and community treatment-based therapy program. I also previously worked for a sexual assault and domestic violence survivors program and in an array of differing youth programs for kids ages 3-18. I have experience in both residential and outpatient treatment centers for substance use and severe and persistent mental illness for adults and youth.
Theoretical Orientation/Treatment Approach
My theoretical approach and training has been centered in a person-centered existential approach to all clients. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques for clients and families. I believe using a variety of therapeutic tools during treatment provides clients the opportunity to personalize the approach to change in their lives. I strive to create an atmosphere that is safe, non-judgmental and conducive to the change process. I approach every client as a person who is human, makes mistakes and is able to change. Let me walk through the highs and lows of life with you in a safe environment, creating lasting change.
