Bassinets for Family Care Center

Please join with the MLH Foundation to raise money to purchase new baby bassinets for the Leota Rolls Family Care Center at Mary Lanning Healthcare.
The state-of-the-art bassinets provide safety and security to families while bringing mothers close to their newborns, during the time when closeness matters most. All donations to Give Hastings Day 5.7.2020 will benefit this project.
The current bassinets have begun to degrade from extensive use of germ-fighting chemicals used to keep patients, their families and hospital staff safe. The new bassinets are
- weighted to stay upright
- constructed of materials to withstand harsh cleaning chemicals required to maintain highest hygiene standards (essential in the control of germs)
- feature several compartments to conveniently store extra diapers and wipes as well as medical equipment
Many of the Critical Access Hospitals in rural Nebraska and Kansas no longer deliver babies because they cannot attract qualified staff or manage the high cost of liability. Mary Lanning Healthcare outcome numbers are evidence based and confirm more babies were born at Mary Lanning than any other hospital in the Tri-Cities.
In 2019, 986 mothers delivered babies at Mary Lanning and nearly half (463) were households from small towns as far away as Lodgepole, Wauneta, O’Neill and Wymore, as well as Webber, Kensington, Lebanon and Osborne in Kansas.
