About Eric Barber
Eric Barber earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Kansas State University and a Master of Healthcare Administration Degree from the University of Kansas. He began his career as a Certified Nurses’ Assistant. Barber said this experience anchored his commitment and dedication to healthcare.
Barber has been involved in leadership roles including serving as Chief Operating Officer and, most recently, CEO at Northeast Regional Medical Center (NRMC) in Kirksville, Missouri. He is active in professional associations and community/service organizations, as well many civic activities. As CEO, he led NRMC to be recognized as one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals in 2011 by Becker’s Hospital Review. He has been successful in establishing collaborative relationships with physicians leading to strong satisfaction and retention. He also has extensive experience in quality and safety improvement.
Barber grew up in Garden City, Kansas. His wife, Julie, is an Oakland, Nebraska, native.
