A physician’s assistant at Hastings Orthopaedics recently was named the Mary Lanning Healthcare Caring Kind Award winner for 2024.
Kristen Anderson, PA-C, will be recognized during the Nebraska Hospital Association’s (NHA) Caring Kind Luncheon in LaVista on October 18. She will be among other award winners from hospitals across the state highlighted for service excellence and dedication to her profession.
Anderson, who has worked at Hastings Orthopaedics for six years, was nominated by her patients and co-workers because she has “a way about her that makes you feel as if you are the most important person in that moment, and she is there to take care of only you. She truly listens to what is being said...to give patients the best possible outcome.”
Described as “kind, gentle and patient,” Anderson is “led by her heart, her dedication to her faith and her commitment to making people feel better again.” In addition to her work in the clinic, she volunteers at a local clinic to support teenage girls.
The NHA describes Caring Kind Award winners as those who are committed to the betterment of their hospitals and health systems, their customers, co-workers and communities. The nominee exemplifies caring, compassion, teamwork and service excellence. 2024 marks the 45th year the NHA has presented Caring Kind Awards at its annual luncheon. Nearly 2,900 of Nebraska’s most caring and dedicated hospital and health system employees have been honored.
