Live On Nebraska recently honored Mary Lanning Healthcare for its role in the 2024 DoNation campaign through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
MLH joined Live On Nebraska and other workplaces and organ procurement organizations across the nation in DoNation — a national campaign uniting America’s workforce for organ, eye and tissue donation. The national initiative challenged workplaces to create donation-friendly workplace communities to educate and engage employees and the community about the crucial need for organ donation, giving them opportunities to sign up as organ, eye and tissue donors.
MLH received the 2024 Bronze Recognition for its activities, including a donor flag raising and honor walk, a bulletin board, a butterfly project, table tents, posters and social media posts.
According to Live On Nebraska, 100,000 Americans need an organ transplant to save their life. Six organs can be donated: heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, small intestine and pancreas. With these gifts, one donor can save up to eight lives.
