The competition at the 33rd annual The Stars Come Out is heating up with doctors and nurses battling it out in a Chef Showdown.
Picking up their spatulas this year are Dr. Curtis Albers, Dr. Daniel Herold and the nursing director duo of Katie Findley and Casie Grubbs. Local chefs help prepare appetizers that will be served by each team. Guests sample the dishes and will be asked to vote for their favorites.
The event takes place, Saturday, August 2, at the City Auditorium, 400 N. Hastings Avenue. Cocktails and mocktails will be served, and silent auction bidding will be open throughout the evening. A live auction will follow.
After the Chef Showdown, those attending will be invited to a sit-down dessert at 7 p.m. and a program, featuring the William H. and Alice T. Lanning Award winners, Dr. Jerry and Mary Seiler.
Registration is due Wednesday, July 23. Cost is $75 per person.
