Director of Mary Lanning Healthcare Home Health
They say that home is where the heart is.
From my 18 years of experience in the home health field (nearly 12 as the director), I can attest to the validity of this saying. For many of our clients feel that staying in their own homes is so important, even despite their health issues. Most of us just feel better when we are home.
That’s why I fell in love with helping people stay in their homes even when facing significant challenges. At Mary Lanning Healthcare Home Health, we have 50 years of experience in bringing healthcare services into the homes of central Nebraska residents.
That’s right. We are celebrating our 50th anniversary on April 24. Along with that anniversary, we can celebrate the fact that we have a lot of experience among our staff. We have several employees who have logged 20, even 40, years of service.
That consistency is the key to our service and the caring, healing touch that our staff members bring to the table.
We have changed and evolved over the last 50 years to meet with new information and technology. We also have grown significantly.
When we started 50 years ago, we had less than a dozen staff members. Now, with all of the home care services, which include Home Health, Hospice, Healthy Beginnings, Palliative Care and Lifeline, we have 45 staff members.
Last year, we made over 9,000 visits to about 950 patients just in the area of home health.
