History
History of Title X in Hastings
1972
To support a family planning agency in Hastings, the spouses of several Hastings physicians, the YWCA of Adams County Board of Directors, and other concerned women in the community joined together and founded Hastings Family Planning.
1975
Hastings Family Planning became incorporated as a non-profit agency.
HFP was founded with the YWCA serving as the sponsoring agency and Georgie Evans, RN as the first director. The agency operated from an area in the lower level of Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital with donated exam tables and other supplies.
1977
Dr. George Adam, who had recently begun his own OB/GYN practice in Hastings, volunteered to be HFP's Medical Director. Before that time, various physicians advised the clinic.

Hastings Family Planning joins with Mary Lanning Healthcare, merging with the outpatient primary care clinic, Community Health Center. The program moved from the Foote Building, at 422 N. Hastings Ave., where it had been housed for many years, to 606 N. Minnesota Ave.
