Safe Medications During Pregnancy
It is preferable to avoid taking medications during pregnancy, but when necessary, there are several safe options. The list below is a general guide and is not designed to be a substitute for medical advice. If you have specific questions, please contact your physician or nurse practitioner.
Note: Use medications sparingly in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy. Call if your temperature is 100.4 F or greater, or if symptoms persist or worsen.

You may have dental care with the following precautions:
- Make sure you are well shielded if x-rays are required.
- Local anesthesia is permitted without epinephrine.
- No sodium pentothal or nitrous oxide.
- Antibiotic therapy is permitted: Penicillin, Amoxicillin, Ampicillin or Keflex
