Tricia grew up in Hastings, NE. She attended Hastings College and the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) and received her Bachelor of Science in 2002 in Communication Disorders. She received her Master of Science in Communication Disorders in 2004 from UNK. Tricia worked as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant for ESU 10 in Lexington throughout her master's program.
She began her career in Speech-Language Pathology in outpatient pediatrics and provided services at St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island on an as needed basis. She is a member and certified through the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). Through ASHA she belongs to the following affiliations Neurophysiology and Neurogenic Speech and Language Disorders, Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders, Dysphagia and Clinicians and Researchers Collaberating (CLARC). She is certified and trained in VitalStim Therapy, Interactive Metronome, Beckman Oral Motor, Deep Pharyngeal Neuromusculature Stimulation (DPNS), Myofascial Release. She has experience in Augmentative/Alternative Communication.
She began her employment at Mary Lanning Healthcare in 2007 in the areas of outpatient, inpatient, acute/subacute rehab. In 2010 Tricia received the "Caring Kind Award" from the Nebraska Hospital Association. She initiated and assisted in the development of the Oral Care Program here at Mary Lanning Healthcare and is involved in the Stroke Care Team. She provides supervision to interns from area universities. Tricia resides in Hastings and has three children, Kathleen, Tyler, and Lizabeth.
