Jayne Nelson, DNP APRN-NP FNP-C CWCN-AP, is seeing patients at the Mary Lanning Healthcare Wound Center.
Originally a construction management/civil engineering major, Nelson switched gears and became an LPN and RN. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree from Nebraska Methodist College in Omaha. Before coming to the MLH Wound Center, she worked as an RN on the Progressive/Intensive Care Unit at Great Plains Health in North Platte. She then was an RN on the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit at Bryan Health in Lincoln, the Burn Trauma Unit at CHI Health - St. Elizabeth and in Home Care Services at Maxim HealthCare in Omaha. She then practiced in outpatient wound care at Methodist Hospital in Omaha before coming to MLH.
Nelson said she hopes to bring awareness to the current treatment guidelines for wounds.
She and her husband live in Hastings and have four daughters. She spends time with her family, enjoys running and lifting weights, and advocates for children with special needs.
