New physicians join Mary Lanning Healthcare clinics

Mary Lanning Healthcare is pleased to announce the addition of two new physicians to its comprehensive team of healthcare providers. Asha R. Schweitzer, D.O., and Zachary Frey, D.O., have joined the medical team in various capacities.

Mark Callahan, Interim Mary Lanning Healthcare President and CEO, said he welcomes the additon of the new physicians.

“Both Asha Schweitzer and Zachary Frey will add to our already highly skilled staffs at Moscati Health Center and Hastings Family Practice,” Callahan said. “I hope the entire Hastings community will make them feel welcome.”


Asha Schweitzer. D.O. has joined the Moscati Health Center in providing full-time family practice services to the region. She will begin seeing patients August 27. Schweitzer earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. 

She recently completed her family medicine residency with the Lincoln Family Medicine Program. Additional interest areas include women’s health and preventive screenings, as well as adolescent health education and planning advanced directives. 

She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Osteopathic Association.

Zachary Frey, D.O.

Zachary Frey, D.O. will work with the staff of Hastings Family Practice on a full-time basis. He will begin seeing patients at the clinic on August 27. Frey received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo., and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City. 

He also recently completed a family medicine residency at Lincoln Family Medicine Program. Frey served as an urgent care physician with Methodist Physicians Clinic – Urgent Care and Emergency Room physician at York General Hospital in York and Crete Area Medical Center in Crete. 

Additional areas of interest include colonoscopy and  endoscopy procedures, and concussion treatment and education.

He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Osteopathic and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.
