HASTINGS — The Mary Lanning Healthcare Sterile Processing Department’s supervisor is the first person in his position at MLH to receive a leadership certification.
Orville Caraballo, who has been a Sterile Processing supervisor since 2019, recently received his Certified Sterile Processing Management Certification. Caraballo passed the exam, which is given to leadership candidates in his role, showing his level of knowledge and commitment to his job.
Caraballo’s position includes managing the daily Sterile Processing operations, adhering to standards and regulation compliance, reporting, staffing, human resources management and interhospital communications.
“We are incredibly lucky to have Orville as part of the Mary Lanning family,” said Casie Grubbs, MLH Surgical Services Director. “He and his Sterile Processing team do a fantastic job keeping our instruments sterile and in top working condition. Most importantly, his work helps keep our patients safe.”
