HASTINGS — Dr. Pornchai Jonglertham, a medical oncologist/hematologist at the Morrison Cancer Center, recently joined the volunteer faculty of the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Dr. Jonglertham has been collaborating with UNMC through Mary Lanning for 10 years. He recently was appointed as Adjunct Assistant Professor of the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of OncologyHematology at UNMC. This will allow him to host UNMC trainees who are interested in community oncology practice experience, and conduct more clinical research in the community.
Dr. Jonglertham is the senior member of the MCC physician team, working at MCC since 2010.
Dr. Jonglertham received his medical degree from Mahidol University, Ramathibodi School of Medicine in Bangkok, Thailand in 1993. He was a resident in internal medicine at Maryland General Hospital in Baltimore and a fellow in medical oncology-hematology at the University of Mississippi. He was senior registrar in medical oncology at Johns Hopkins-NUH International Medical Center in Singapore. He served in private practice in Hastings and Texas before returning to the Morrison Cancer Center in Hastings in 2010. Dr. Jonglertham is the chairman of the Mary Lanning Healthcare Cancer Committee.
