HASTINGS — The Adams County Veterans Service Office and Mary Lanning Healthcare are joining together to celebrate Flag Day 2015 and recognize the 100th anniversary of MLH.
At 9 a.m. on Friday, June 12, the two organizations will gather for a special flag dedication on the east side of Mary Lanning Healthcare near the Visitor’s Entrance and flag pole. In case of rain, the ceremony will take place under the canopy of the Visitor’s Entrance.
The brief ceremony will include some information from Chris Long, Adams County Veterans Service Officer; the presentation of the colors by local veteran’s organizations; an invocation by Chaplain John Mueller; a poem by Wilbur Nexbit, “Your Flag and My Flag,” read by Troop 207 Boy Scout Trey Gill; the presentation and raising of a flag that also flew over our nation’s Capitol; the Pledge of Allegiance and “The Star Spangled Banner.”
The public and the media are invited to attend.
