HASTINGS — Fourteen students enrolled in the Creighton University College of Nursing — Mary Lanning Campus are taking part in a special ceremony Tuesday, Sept. 9.
The Blessing of the Hands ceremony is a tradition for Creighton University, according to Marilee Aufdenkamp, Hastings campus instructor. The ecumenical service takes place at 4:30 p.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 301 W. Seventh St.
“It’s a way to support and affirm the important work the students are about to embark on with clinical rotations,” Aufdenkamp said.
Junior and senior nursing students who will be doing their clinical work take part in the ceremony, with a special reception following in Centennial Hall.
