Galleri® Multi-Cancer Early Detection (MCED) test
Mary Lanning Healthcare now offers the Galleri® Multi-Cancer Early Detection (MCED) test — a blood test that checks for more than 50 types of cancer, usually before symptoms appear. The test, which consists of a blood draw, is part of an evolving area of cancer health screenings and testing. It does not replace routine health screenings, as it’s a complimentary test to detect cancer at a cellular level.
Key benefits
- Helps find cancer earlier: Many cancers aren’t discovered until symptoms appear. MCED testing looks for a cancer cell signal present in the blood that may indicate cancer earlier when treatment may be more effective and less invasive.
- Screens for many cancers at once in a simple test: A single blood draw looks for signals that may be linked to many types of cancers, including some that do not have routine screening tests.
- Provides actionable results. Results are typically available within a 10 – 15 days. If a cancer cell signal is detected the results also predict the tissue type or organ associated (delete)(with the signal,) giving your provider next steps for diagnostic testing to confirm the cancer.
- Provides peace of mind. Whether a cancer signal is found or not, MCED testing allows you to take an active step in understanding and managing your care.
