Registration is open for a hands-on healthcare exploration event for high school students in early June.
Mary Lanning Healthcare and Bryan College of Health Sciences have teamed up to help area high school students learn about a variety of healthcare professions through interactive learning experiences. The second annual Medical Academy of Science and Health (M.A.S.H.) takes place from 1:30-4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4 at the Bryan College of Health Sciences on the Third Floor of the MLH Medical Office Building.

Participants will engage in a full afternoon of activities highlighting these healthcare professions:
- Nursing
- Radiologic technology
- Respiratory therapy
- Laboratory science
- Physical, occupational and speech therapy
Carol Hamik, RN MSN BSN CPN CPST LSSGB, MLH DIrector of Nurse Recruiting & Clinical Outreach, said it is important that students become interested in healthcare careers.
“Showcasing MLH and the talents of staff is one way to spark interest in healthcare careers for students,” Hamik said. “This event, coupled with our CNA program at Hastings High School, have already launched many students into healthcare pathways in college.”
