Debra Reilly, MD FACS, has more than 38 years of plastic surgery experience, practicing since 1992 at Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha, Arkansas Children’s Hospital Burn Center in Little Rock and Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Omaha. She retired in 2019 as Professor Emerita at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She is board certified in Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Reilly’s surgical specialties include reconstructive plastic surgery, wound surgery, scar management, outpatient acute and chronic burns, breast problems, male breast hypertrophy, tummy tucks, lipo sculpture, hair loss from scars, skin cancer reconstruction, arm reductions and post-weight loss body contouring.
“I love wound care,” Dr. Reilly said. “Whether the wounds are the result of burns, trauma, disease or cancer, I am always open to various ways that healing can be facilitated. Surgery is not always the best option for people. Having the skills to heal without requiring a trip to the operating room is essential. However, I am a surgeon. If needed I will always use my plastic surgery skills to care for the more difficult wound care problems.”
Dr. Reilly said she has enjoyed the family atmosphere she gets when working with MLH teams.
“The staff are very concerned about the welfare and wellbeing of the patients and their families who choose care at MLH,” Dr. Reilly said. “Being able to offer my 38 years of plastic surgery education and provide high quality plastic surgery care to the Hastings area has been gratifying.”
Dr. Reilly and her husband, Bob Culver, live in Omaha with their two cats. They also maintain living space in Hastings when she is working. Dr. Reilly said she and her husband are enjoying their time in Hastings, where her son and grandson live. In addition, she and her husband (an artist) love to travel and visit opera houses around the world. Her hobbies include cooking, yoga and needle point. She also plays hand bells in her church. Dr. Reilly is involved in medical mission work to Third World countries. She serves on the Board of Directors for Reconstructing Women International. The group of women plastic surgeons travels to counties including India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Haiti to teach and operate on women injured by domestic violence, burns, trauma or breast cancer.
