Education: St. Cecilia High School, Central Community College, Hastings College, then PA program at UNMC in Omaha
Why did you become a provider? "I started in health information and business, and I realized I liked the medical part of it, but sitting behind a desk and working with paperwork all day was not what I really wanted to do. I liked interacting with patients, relating to them, and trying to figure out ways to make them better. I like finding ways to meet their needs, so I switched degree programs.
"I did a lot of job shadowing throughout college with different medical offices and physicians, and I felt like PA was a great fit because you graduate with a basic degree in family medicine, but then you can specialize if you want with more on the job training."
What do you enjoy as a provider? "I love how we have a team approach to taking care of patients. We all are willing to help each other, and we play off our strengths to give best care to the patient. I can ask any nurse for help, and they are more than willing to jump in and help me. I can ask each of the other providers for help on different things, and we all work together to take care of our patients."
