In 2016, the average time for tPA administration at MLH was less than 63 minutes from patient arrival to treatment.

The MLH Emergency Services Dept. is essential in helping to get potential stroke patients diagnosed and treated during the first “Golden Hour” following a stroke. The current average arrival to treatment time is 43 minutes.

From 2015 to 2016, the MLH Stroke Program saw a 13.5% increase in the total number of stroke and TIA patients. In 2016, tPA administration remained high with 15.5% of our ischemic stroke patients receiving tPA. The national average for tPA administration is 3-4%.
