HASTINGS — Mary Lanning Healthcare thanks the public for its patience while it works around the current outage of the Epic electronic medical record.
MLH, along with several other hospitals in the state, subscribes to the Epic system through Nebraska Medicine. The system was unavailable Sunday through early today.
Members of the MLH Executive Team said MLH continues to see hospital and clinic patients using planned downtime protocols.
“Patient safety is of the utmost importance at MLH,” said Eric Barber, MLH President and CEO. “That continues to be our priority as we wait for the computer system to return to normal.”
Nebraska Medicine released the following statement:
Nebraska Medicine is currently addressing a security incident affecting some of our IT systems. Our IT team is working tirelessly to restore the impacted systems and bring them back online, and we have engaged leading independent forensic experts to support our efforts. We are implementing workarounds to minimize any disruption to our patients, and we remain committed to providing the high standard of care that our patients have come to expect and deserve.
