HASTINGS — Mary Lanning Healthcare’s Chief Nursing Officer recently was chosen by Governor Pete Ricketts to serve on the Nebraska Center for Nursing Board.
Ronda Ehly, RN MS, of Kenesaw began her three-year term on the board in January. The Nebraska Legislature created the Nebraska Center for Nursing to address shortages of nurses in the state.
The 16-member Nebraska Center for Nursing Board meets several times a year to help find solutions to shortages. The Nebraska Center for Nursing analyzes surveys completed by Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses when they renew their licenses.
Ehly said she is honored to be chosen by Gov. Ricketts.
“I have worked in the nursing field for more than 40 years and it is good to be able to help the state of Nebraska with this pressing problem,” Ehly said. “Nurses are the heart of healthcare. At MLH, we want to make sure we provide the best care possible, and that means making sure an adequate number of nurses are available.”
