HASTINGS — Local pain management specialist Kartic Rajput, MD PhD, recently was named a board member of American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (ASIPP). He was nominated and elected to serve as young physician director for the organization.
Dr. Rajput, who works at Central Nebraska Pain Clinic and The Lanning Center for Behavioral Services, has been active in opioid addiction awareness and treatment. On the ASIPP board, he will be leading physicians from all across the country in serving as a voice for interventional pain management.
ASIPP is a not-for-profit organization that has been growing rapidly since 1998 and has had a substantial impact on the practice of interventional pain medicine. ASIPP represents more than 4,500 interventional pain physicians from across the country. It is devoted to promoting the development and practice of safe, high quality, cost-effective interventional pain management techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of pain and related disorders, and to ensure patient access to these interventions. ASIPP is recognized by members of Congress and the federal administration as one of the most involved and influential medical society.
ASIPP was involved in approval of the NASPER act. This act mandated a shared reporting system for prescription medications to help control the diversion and abuse of prescription medications, protecting patients and physicians from deleterious effects of controlled substance misuse, abuse and trafficking.
Dr. Rajput sees patients in Hastings and Grand Island. He is board certified in psychiatry and pain medicine.
