Birth Control

Birth control pills

  • Abstinence is the only 100 percent way to completely reduce the risk of having a child or contracting an STI.
  • Barrier methods such as the male and female condoms, a diaphragm, sponge, cervical cap or spermicide.
  • Hormonal methods such as oral contraceptives (the pill), the patch, vaginal contraceptive ring, a shot or injection, an IUD or an implantable rod.
  • Sterilization.

HFP also offers emergency contraception that can be used if you do not use birth control or your regular birth control fails. It should not be used as a regular form of birth control.
