Kylene is a Mary Lanning graduate from the Diploma nursing program. She has since furthered her career and is now a Family and Psychiatric nurse Practitioner. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Nebraska Wesleyan in Lincoln NE and her Masters of Science in Nursing and Family/Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner certificate from UNMC — Kearney campus in 2007. Kylene has an extensive nursing background in multiple areas of specialty. One such area is in psychiatric care having worked at the Hastings Regional Center and Richard Young in Kearney. She brings with her experience in the Public Health arena having served as a Provider at the East Central Health Department, Good Neighbor Clinics in Columbus Nebraska for 4 years. Having both certifications in Family and Psychiatry allows Kylene to emphasize a holistic approach to health care across the life span. She provides family health care for all ages and psychiatric care for all individuals from age 6 and above.
Growing up on the family ranch in the Sandhills and being married to a farmer for 32 years has given her an appreciation for agriculture. Not only is she involved in agriculture she has completed the Agricultural Medicine course for Rural Health Professionals through the University of Nebraska Medical Center in collaboration with Iowa’s Center for Agricultural Safety and Health & the Great Plains Center for Agricultrual Health. Kylene and her husband Francis have four adult children and two grandchildren. The Schroer’s enjoy travel, outdoor activities and spending time with family & friends.
