HASTINGS — Monday, April 4 marks the official start of valet parking at Mary Lanning Healthcare.
Both patients and visitors entering through the North or Outpatient Surgery entrances and the Morrison Cancer Center (MCC) will be greeted by uniformed attendants from HealthPark Valet.
Bradley Dusatko, Mary Lanning Healthcare’s Director of Engineering, said the service will be available at the North Entrance and MCC from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Outpatient Surgery valet parking will run from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Dusatko said the valet service, which is complimentary for patients and visitors, will consist of a lot more than parking cars. HealthPark Valet employees are trained to find wheelchairs and bring them to patients and visitors, help people with directions and be customer-friendly.
“You will see the valets literally running across parking lots in an attempt to meet customer needs with enthusiasm,” Dusatko said. “This is just another way that Mary Lanning Healthcare is putting patient and visitor needs first.”
When visitors pull up to the valet parking area, they will be given tickets instructing them in the ways they can retrieve their vehicles. The tickets allow patients and visitors to text the valet, asking them to retrieve vehicles. The valet can have the car running and ready to go when the visitor reaches the entrance. Or, patients/visitors can simply present their ticket at the valet parking area.
If a patient or visitor is staying overnight, the Mary Lanning Healthcare Security Department will maintain the car keys and help retrieve vehicles when needed.
HealthPark Valet is one of the fastest-growing companies to provide this service to hospitals, Dusatko said. They provide the same service at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
